Reports To Director Consulting
Services
SUMMARY
Provide direct supervision and
mentoring of consulting staff, and coordinate development and professional activities of
all consulting services by performing the following duties personally or through
subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include
the following. Other duties may be assigned.
In conjunction with Practice Leader (Director or
Vice President), establish strategies to meet engagement deliverables, budgets and target
dates.
Assist Business Development Executives determine
scope, staffing and priorities of projects.
Identify staffing needs of existing and future
engagements and assist in the hiring of consulting staff and conduct performance
evaluations of staff per company policy.
Ensure engagement deliverables are clearly
communicated to the consultant and that they are met to the client's satisfaction.
Monitor the quality of services provided, maintain
communication with client, obtain client feedback and ensure issues are promptly
addressed.
Monitor budget for engagement, ensure hours and
expenses are reported appropriately and project is completed on time and within budget.
Constantly strive to identify opportunities to
develop efficiencies in engagement methodologies
Identify business opportunities for the advancement
of the firm.
Perform project management and consulting services
for those accounts assigned to.
Manager may be assigned to billable projects to
attain at least 50% utilization for a fiscal year.
ACCOUNT
MANAGEMENT
Perform regular site visits to
prior, existing and prospective clients to identify engagement opportunities and to
develop client goodwill.
Issue, review and monitor client satisfaction
surveys.
Monitor engagement scopes and budgets to identify
potential overruns and to obtain engagement extension.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the overall
direction, coordination, and evaluation of team. Also directly supervises consultants.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies
and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and
disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from
four-year college or university is required.
Preferred Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent or
six to ten years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
6 - 10 years experience working in a senior position
of a health care provider, organization, vendor or another consulting firm is required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, financial reports,
and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and
articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to
effectively present information to public groups, senior management, and/or boards of
directors of client organizations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect
data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER DUTIES
Extensive travel is required.
Approval of time sheets and expense reports.
Education plan, including conferences, courses, or
books to read.
